We drove to Machame Gate (1800 meters)at 11 am, then hiked to Machame Hut (3100 meters). We climbed 1300 meters and arrived at camp about 4:30pm. We started out in the jungle. By the time we summit we will have climbed through 5 different ecosystems.
"Mountain climbing is extended periods of intense boredom, interrupted by occasional moments of sheer terror.
